FAQS

Did you go to school TO be a personal trainer?

I actually have an undergraduate and master’s degree in business. After spending 12 years in sales and marketing and building a six-figure career, I decided to pursue my passion for health and wellness so I could make a real difference in people’s lives—and have more time with my family.

In 2017, I earned my Certified Personal Trainer credential through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and have continued adding advanced education in movement, corrective exercise, pelvic floor, nutrition, and balance training.

do you work with clients who have pelvic floor concerns?

Yes! I’m a Certified Pelvic Floor Fitness Professional through The Vagina Coach. While I’m not a pelvic floor physical therapist and do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, I can help you improve breathing, pressure management, core function, and movement patterns through exercise. Many clients also benefit from a pelvic floor fitness assessment, and when appropriate, I’ll recommend working alongside a pelvic floor physical therapist or your healthcare provider.

What is a Pelvic Floor Fitness Assessment?

A pelvic floor fitness assessment is a non-invasive movement assessment designed to identify movement patterns that may influence how your core and pelvic floor function during everyday activities and exercise.

We'll look at things like your posture, breathing, mobility, balance, core coordination, squat mechanics, walking pattern, and how your body manages pressure during movement. These findings help guide exercise selection and identify areas that may benefit from improved mobility, stability, or coordination.

This is not an internal examination or a medical evaluation. As a Certified Pelvic Floor Fitness Professional, I use the assessment to build a safe, individualized exercise program. If I believe your symptoms would benefit from additional evaluation, I'll recommend working with a pelvic floor physical therapist or your healthcare provider.

I live in another state. Can I work with you?

Absolutely! We can work together remotely. After a quick call to ensure we’re a good fit, I’ll set you up in my training app, where you’ll receive custom workouts with video guidance. We’ll stay connected through the app, text, or phone, and schedule check-ins to review your progress and answer questions.

Can my friend and I work out together?

Definitely! I love semi-private training sessions; they’re fun, motivating, and personalized for both of you. We’ll start with a short call to talk through your goals and schedules to make sure we build a program that fits everyone.

You mostly work with women. would you train my husband and me together?

I’ve worked with people of all ages and fitness levels, men and women alike. Training as a couple can be a great way to stay accountable and share the journey toward better health.

what is the hume pod and why would i use it? is there a cost to use it?

The Hume Pod is a quick, non-invasive body composition scan that gives us a deeper look at your progress beyond the scale.

In just a few minutes, it measures things like muscle mass, body fat, hydration, and recovery markers, so we can see what’s really changing inside your body.

And nope, there’s no extra cost.

It’s included for all Misty G Fitness clients.
Simply download the app to your phone and step on the scale during your session.

It’s within about 2% accuracy of a DEXA scan (the clinical gold standard), so it gives us reliable, real-world data without the time, cost, or hassle of medical testing.

It helps us:
✔️ Track muscle gain (not just weight loss)
✔️ Monitor recovery and hydration
✔️ Adjust your training and nutrition more accurately
✔️ Measure true progress over time

It’s especially helpful if your goal is strength, performance, healthy aging, or if you’re using GLP-1 medications and want to make sure you’re preserving muscle.

Think of it as:
better information → better coaching → better results.

I’m not “aging” but I’m interested in working with you. Do you work with younger clients?

Absolutely. I work with anyone who wants to get stronger, improve mobility, and build confidence, regardless of age. If that’s you, let’s connect!

Is it extra to use the infrared sauna and/or red light Therapy?

Not at this time!

These are simply added perks to support your overall wellness and recovery as part of your training experience at Misty G Fitness.

Think of them as tools to help you feel better, recover faster, and get more out of your workouts, not an upsell.

Benefits of infrared sauna may include:

✔️ Improved circulation
✔️Faster muscle recovery
✔️ Reduced soreness and stiffness
✔️ Stress relief and relaxation
✔️ Detoxification through sweat
✔️ Better sleep
✔️ Support for joint pain and inflammation

Benefits of red & near-infrared light therapy may include:

✔️ Reduced inflammation
✔️ Faster tissue healing and recovery
✔️ Improved muscle and joint comfort
✔️ Increased circulation and cellular repair
✔️ Healthier skin and collagen support
✔️ Energy and overall wellness support

(Optional blue light can also help with acne.)

You’re always welcome to use these before or after your session (sauna is best after).

Because recovery is just as important as training.

I just need to learn how to lift weights. I don’t need ongoing accountability. Can you help?

Yes! My goal is to help you gain the knowledge and confidence to train on your own. We’ll focus on proper technique, smart progressions, and preventing injury. Once you’ve mastered the basics, I’ll be available anytime for form checks, maintenance sessions, or updated programming.

I’ve had an injury and have some limitations. Can you work with me?

Yes, as long as you’ve been cleared by your doctor. Many of my clients come to me with old injuries or stiffness that affects how they move. I design safe, progressive programs that help you regain strength, improve mobility, and feel more confident in your body again.

I have a significant amount of weight to lose. Can you help me?

Yes. As both a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I support a balanced, sustainable approach to health, focusing on strength, real food, hydration, and consistency. Since around 80% of weight loss comes from nutrition, we’ll work on simple, lasting habits that fit your lifestyle.

Do you provide meal plans?

I don’t create specific meal plans, but I do educate you on eating real food and provide personalized nutrition guidance. You’ll learn how to build balanced meals, choose nutrient-dense foods, and create a plan that fits your preferences and goals, without restricting food groups or relying on gimmicks.

I’m interested in bodybuilding. Are you the right trainer for that?

That’s exciting! Bodybuilding isn’t my specialty, so I’d recommend connecting with a coach who focuses on that discipline. If you’d like, I can help refer you to someone who’s a great fit.
